Beat the Street

Beat the Street has officially started!

Beat the Street runs from the 7th of June till the 26th of July.

Whether you like walking, running or cycling, this is a great way to make it more fun, in this giant game around East Sussex. All you have to do is make sure tap in at each tapping point. By doing this you can gain points for yourself and your team as well as putting yourself in the draw for a chance to win prizes!

You can collect your cards and maps today at any of our Sport Eastbourne Centres:

  • Cavendish Sports Centre

  • Hampden Park Sports Centre

  • Shinewater Sports Centre

  • Eastbourne Sports Park

To register your card just go to www.beatthestreet.me/eastsussex

From here you can choose a team to join and it has never been more simple!
To join our Sport Eastbourne team, all you have to do is click "community and workplace" under choose a category. Then select "Eastbourne Sport" under choose a team.
Once you are registered you can get out and start tapping away!

Before going out there why not map out a route?

At each centre you can collect a map with your card, these will give you the closest locations in and around Eastbourne that you can play. Each map shows you points where the beat boxes (or tapping points) are. You even get a check list in the map so you can tick off places you have done!

Struggling to find the points on the map?

No worries, go on the beat the street East Sussex homepage and click on the view button under "beat box maps". This will open up google maps and will help you see clearer where each tapping point is.

Still can't find the tapping points?

Just double click on each individual red marker and you will see a description of where that tapping point is. It really couldn't be easier!

Why should I take part?

Taking part in Beat the Street gives you a great reason to get out and be active. It really doesn't feel like your exercising at all. Due to you constantly checking in at each point it doesn't feel like you've done as much as you have. A four mile route may seem like a lot but with 11 beat boxes inbetween it feel like nothing at all.

If that doesn't make you want to join in the think of the wonderful prizes you could win! With the top prize being £300 to individuals who travel the furthest throughout the game.

Boxes arent working?

If you discover any beat box not working please email team.eastsussex@beatthestreet.me and let them know. They will then be able to fix this as soon as possible!
